Mexico City — Senator Gino Segura of Quintana Roo has requested an indefinite leave of absence from his legislative duties, effective June 25, to dedicate himself full-time to organizing and strengthening the Fourth Transformation (4T) movement in the state.

The request was submitted to the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union, aligning with his commitment to consolidate the so-called Second Floor of the Fourth Transformation and continue working for the well-being of Quintana Roo residents.

Segura said the decision stems from his conviction to serve the people from the grassroots and respond to the call to strengthen the movement’s organization in Quintana Roo.

“From the first day I took office as senator, I made a commitment to serve Mexico and Quintana Roo with absolute conviction. Today, honoring that same responsibility and at the request of the people, I have decided to return to my homeland to join full-time the tasks of organization and territorial strengthening of our movement,” he said.

During his tenure in the Senate, Segura promoted various initiatives and reforms aimed at boosting the country’s economic, tourism, and social development, maintaining an agenda close to the needs of Quintana Roo.

The legislator reiterated that this new phase represents an opportunity to continue building, from the territory and alongside citizens, a fairer, more prosperous Quintana Roo with greater opportunities for all.

“I will continue working with the same conviction, closeness, and commitment that have guided me throughout my public life. The transformation continues and requires the effort, organization, and participation of everyone,” he stated.

Segura thanked the people of Quintana Roo for their trust and reaffirmed his commitment to continue contributing to the strengthening of the movement and building a better future for Quintana Roo and Mexico.
