FutFest Expects Up to 15,000 Attendees for Mexico’s Next Match in Cancun

Large crowd gathered at Malecón Tajamar for FutFest during a Mexico match

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Organizers of the FutFest fan festival at Malecón Tajamar expect up to 15,000 attendees for Mexico’s next match on Wednesday, following strong turnout for previous games.

Juan Pablo Zulueta, Benito Juárez’s tourism secretary, said attendance has been highest during Mexico matches. The previous Mexico game drew about 10,000 people.

“The days with the highest attendance have been during Mexico’s matches. We expect tomorrow we can have more than 10,000 people,” Zulueta said.

To improve the viewing experience, organizers began installing additional delay screens on Tuesday, allowing fans to watch the match from more locations. The measure proved successful during the opening and other matches, especially when Argentina played, drawing large crowds eager to see Lionel Messi.

Beyond match broadcasts, FutFest offers family activities including 3-on-3 soccer, fut-tennis, and pull-up competitions.

“The atmosphere is always incredible, very family-friendly, especially during Mexico matches and any other game,” Zulueta said.

The event maintains a family focus, with no alcohol sales or entry permitted. Security checkpoints are in place at entrances.

“We are expecting around 15,000 people because last time we had 10,000 at FutFest for the Mexico match. With these screens, people will have much better visibility and more space to enjoy around Malecón Tajamar,” Zulueta said.
