Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo Economic Development Department (SEDE) has launched a campaign offering a 90% discount on trademark registration for entrepreneurs, artisans, and priority sectors, allowing them to register their brand for just 312.64 pesos (about $16 USD).
The initiative, called “Marcas para el Bienestar 2026-II,” is part of the state’s New Agreement for Welfare and Development promoted by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa. It aims to help small businesses formalize and protect their intellectual property.
Eligible participants include artisans, micro-entrepreneurs, senior citizens, young entrepreneurs, cooperative members, and people with intellectual disabilities.
Preregistration runs from May 16 to 28, 2026, with the official campaign period from June 16 to 26, 2026. Participants can legally protect their brand names, logos, and commercial identities, reducing the risk of unauthorized use and boosting market competitiveness.
SEDE head Paul Carrillo de Cáceres highlighted that the campaign provides a significant opportunity for residents to access business formalization tools and consolidate their projects with greater legal security.
Assistance is available at two locations: in Chetumal at the Dirección de Vinculación Comercial y Abasto (Avenida Boulevard Bahía esquina Ignacio Comonfort S/N, phone 983 833 4354 ext. 222, email d.vinculacion.sede@gmail.com), and in Cancún at the Dirección de Fomento y Desarrollo Empresarial Zona Norte (Plaza Las Palmas, Local A28 Altos, Avenida La Costa esquina Xcaret, phone 998 892 0925, email d.fomentozn.sede@gmail.com).
