Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A taxi driver affiliated with the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union attacked a female passenger after she asked for her change, sparking public outrage. The incident was captured on video and widely shared on social media.

The driver, operating a taxi with economic number 320, can be seen in the video gesturing aggressively, intimidating, and insulting the passenger.

According to the victim’s account posted on social media, she hailed the taxi in the Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta neighborhood heading to downtown. At a traffic light, she asked the fare, and the driver said 100 pesos. She handed over a 200-peso bill, but the driver allegedly refused to give change, claiming he had no money. When she insisted, he began insulting her and became increasingly aggressive.

Fearing for her safety, the woman tried to record the situation with her phone. At that point, the driver began hitting her. She managed to exit the vehicle and capture part of the video before the driver fled without returning her change.
