Governor Mara Lezama and Municipal President Diego Castañón have unveiled plans for a new Family Medicine Unit under the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in the Chemuyil community of Tulum. Lezama emphasized that this project will bolster the local health infrastructure and ensure improved medical services for the community.
The Director General of IMSS, Zoé Robledo, confirmed the development over a phone call. The new unit will feature nine offices, providing round-the-clock, high-quality medical care. Services will include preventive medicine, dental care, nutrition, mental health, emergency medical care, radiodiagnostic studies, and a clinical laboratory.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Government of Mexico and the IMSS. It underscores a continued commitment to advancing projects that strengthen the health system in Quintana Roo. The focus remains on social justice and promoting well-being for all.
