Four Suspects Charged With Drug Crimes in Quintana Roo

Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office announced that judges have formally charged four individuals with drug-related crimes in three municipalities: Othón P. Blanco, José María Morelos, and Tulum.

The charges were brought by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Dealing, following separate investigations.

In separate hearings, a judge ordered Jorge Alberto “N” and Cristián Martín “N” to stand trial. Jorge Alberto is accused of possessing cocaine and methamphetamine with intent to supply, while Cristián Martín faces charges for possessing marijuana and methamphetamine with intent to supply.

In another case, José Julián “N” was charged with simple possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. The judge ordered him held in pretrial detention for the duration of the proceedings.

In Tulum, a judge charged Saúl Iván “N”, who was caught red-handed during a joint operation by the Investigative Police, Municipal Police, and the Mexican Army. He is accused of simple possession of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

The Prosecutor’s Office said investigations continue, and the judicial authority will determine the defendants’ criminal responsibility. Under Mexican law, those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
