Cancun, Quintana Roo — Four people have been charged following a raid on a house in Cancun’s Region 528 that authorities say was linked to a loan shark operation known as “gota a gota.”
During an initial hearing, Kinariel “N” and Oscar David “N” were charged with possession of dried marijuana with intent to supply. A judge ordered them held in pretrial detention for one year.
Andres Gonzalo “N” was also charged with possession with intent to supply, while Ana Gabriela “N” faces a charge of simple possession of the same drug. Both received the same one-year pretrial detention order.
The arrests stemmed from a search warrant executed at a home on Puerto Ensenada Street, between Progreso and Andalucia in the Andalucia 2 subdivision, in Cancun’s Superblock 528. Inside, officers found packages of green and dried marijuana, a Colombian passport, three notebooks with various notes, and three long-sleeved blue shirts embroidered with a logo from a company that provides loans. All items were added to the investigation file.
The operation was carried out by agents from the state prosecutor’s drug unit, working with federal forces. The property was sealed after the raid.
