Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Firefighters from the Civil Protection, Risk Prevention and Fire Department of Playa del Carmen responded Friday to a vehicle fire involving approximately 300 liters of fuel on Federal Highway 307 near Punta Venado.

According to the official report, the intense flames spread to nearby brush, forcing emergency crews to deploy containment and suppression maneuvers to prevent the fire from reaching other risk areas.

Firefighters worked for several minutes to control the blaze, extinguishing both the vehicle fire and the resulting brush fire caused by the spreading flames.

Separately, during the early morning hours, operational personnel also responded to a fire in a green area of the Mundo Habitat subdivision, where flames affected an area approximately 50 by 100 meters. Crews carried out containment and extinguishing work to prevent the fire from reaching nearby homes and endangering local families.

Municipal authorities reported that both emergencies were controlled without any injuries, and reiterated that emergency response units maintain constant surveillance and immediate response capacity for incidents that pose a danger to the public.
