17 Charged in Quintana Roo Drug Trafficking Cases

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Thirteen men and four women have been formally charged after the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) presented corresponding evidence to control judges. These individuals are under investigation for their alleged involvement in health-related crimes, specifically small-scale drug trafficking, in this municipality, as well as in Tulum and Cozumel.

After being detained in the Villas del Carmen subdivision of Playa del Carmen, Adalberto “N”, Patricio “N”, Nilvia Beatriz “N”, Jasmín “N”, and Rubicelia “N” were formally charged for their probable involvement in health-related crimes, specifically small-scale drug trafficking in its variant of possession with intent to supply the narcotic known as marijuana. All five were placed under justified preventive detention for the duration of the judicial process against them.

Also in Playa del Carmen, Alexis Giovani “N” and Lorena Sarahí “N” were charged with possession with intent to supply the narcotics marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine. The male defendant was given the precautionary measure of preventive detention.

In the same municipality, Leonardo Daniel “N” and Christian “N” were processed for simple possession of marijuana; both were placed under justified preventive detention. These individuals were detained in Puerto Morelos.

In the municipality of Tulum, Sergio “N” and José Enrique “N” were charged with small-scale drug trafficking in the variant of possession with intent to supply marijuana. The judge imposed the precautionary measure of preventive detention on them for two years or for the duration of the judicial process.

During separate hearings, which took place in the municipality of Cozumel, control judges formally charged José Hermenegildo “N”, Cristian Michel “N”, Jesús Manuel “N”, and Jesús David “N” with possession with intent to supply the drug known as marijuana. Furthermore, the judge imposed the precautionary measure of justified preventive detention on them for the duration of the judicial process.

Similarly, Brandon Daniel “N” and Germán “N” were charged with possession with intent to supply marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine. The second defendant was given the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the duration of the judicial process against him.
