Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A 65-year-old man died aboard a passenger bus traveling on a federal highway near the community of Uhmay in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, authorities said.
According to initial reports, the victim was traveling from the state of Chiapas to the community of Puerto Maya. During the trip, he began experiencing health complications and lost consciousness inside the vehicle.
Passengers and bus staff tried to help the elderly man, but when they realized he was unresponsive, they requested emergency services. The bus pulled over to the side of the road.
Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed the man had no vital signs. Officers cordoned off the area while prosecutors and forensic experts conducted the necessary investigations.
Authorities have not released the official cause of death, but preliminary indications suggest a health issue related to the long journey.
The incident caused distress among passengers who witnessed the situation. Officials continued with the removal of the body and the start of investigations to clarify the circumstances.
