Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — The head of the CROC labor federation in Quintana Roo has confirmed Sara Eugenio Reyes as interim leader of the mototaxi union representing this coastal community and the Villas del Sol subdivision, calling on drivers to stay united.

Martín de la Cruz Gómez, secretary general of the Confederación Revolucionaria de Obreros y Campesinos (CROC) in the state, made the announcement during a Saturday assembly at the union’s Puerto Aventuras offices, where he fielded questions from drivers about the future of their permits and operations.

De la Cruz Gómez said the organization had once again demonstrated its strength and insisted it has no conflict with authorities following the arrest of Alcalde Gilberto Gómez, who is facing legal proceedings. The CROC, he said, defends its members strictly within the framework of the law.

He also urged mototaxi operators to obtain their labor competency certificate, a document that validates the knowledge, skills and abilities required to work as drivers.

Permit Review and Plates Still Pending Before IMOVEQRO

Eugenio Reyes said efforts to regularize permits and complete the license plate process are still under way before the Quintana Roo Mobility Institute (IMOVEQRO). The agency verifies that mototaxis carry their paperwork in order and remain inside their authorized operating zone, which excludes Highway 307.

The interim leader’s appointment covers both the Puerto Aventuras delegation and Villas del Sol, two areas served by the mototaxi collective.
