Tulum, Quintana Roo — An Argentine influencer has sparked a heated debate on social media after refusing to pay a 500-peso day pass fee at a Tulum hotel, claiming that the content she created on-site was sufficient compensation.

The influencer, whose name has not been disclosed, entered the Sana hotel in Tulum with a group to use the pools, loungers, and other recreational areas while filming material for her social media channels. She brought her own food and drinks to avoid spending money at the establishment.

Upon leaving, hotel staff informed her that she needed to pay the day pass fee — a standard charge for guests who use the facilities without booking a room. The fee was 500 pesos (approximately $27 USD) per person.

In a video that went viral, the influencer argued that the payment was already covered by the promotional value of the videos and photos she recorded inside the hotel. However, hotel employees explained that advertising collaborations require prior agreements between both parties and cannot be assumed unilaterally.
