Cancun — In a joint operation under the "Blindaje Cancun" initiative, the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security and Transit, in coordination with the State Attorney General's Office and federal authorities, arrested three individuals—two women and one man—for their alleged involvement in drug crimes and possession of a firearm.
Intervention in Supermanzana 258
During surveillance and prevention duties in Supermanzana 258, security personnel observed three people arguing and pushing each other, a situation that drew the attention of officers. As they approached, they noticed that several small bags containing a dry, leafy substance, apparently marijuana, had fallen to the ground.
Discovery of Drugs and a Firearm
Following an inspection, officers located 97 small bags containing a dry green leafy substance with the characteristics of marijuana, 87 small bags with crystalline fragments presumed to be crystal meth, in addition to one short 9-millimeter caliber firearm and six live cartridges.
The Detainees
The alleged individuals involved were identified as Javier "N", 57; Filomena "N", also 57; and Fátima "N", 31. All were placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General's Office for the initiation of the corresponding investigations.
Authorities reiterated that these actions are part of the "Blindaje Cancun" initiative, a permanent security strategy aimed at deterring crime and maintaining tranquility in the city.
