Suspect Detained After Shooting Two People in Cancun

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A man was arrested Friday evening after allegedly opening fire on a resident in the Supermanzana 313 neighborhood, leaving two people injured, according to local authorities.

Police responded to reports of gunshots and found two injured men at the scene. One victim identified the suspect, Miguel “N,” as the person who shot him as he arrived home.

During the attack, family members of the victim intervened, disarming and holding the suspect until security forces arrived.

Officers seized a Taurus short-barrel firearm, a magazine loaded with 10 rounds, and a Vento motorcycle believed to have been used in the incident.

The suspect was taken into custody and turned over to the State Prosecutor’s Office, which will continue the investigation to determine his legal status.
