Quintana Roo’s New Plan for Sustainable Urban Growth

QUINTANA ROO — The Secretary of Sustainable Urban Territorial Development (SEDETUS), in a joint effort with the municipalities of Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Bacalar, has seen the responsible approval of Municipal Urban Development Programs (PMDU) in 2025, aligning with national and state territorial planning policies.

These actions are carried out under the leadership of Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, in accordance with the State Development Plan, guaranteeing that the urban growth of Quintana Roo takes place with a comprehensive vision, social justice, and sustainability as established in the New Agreement for Well-being and Development.

Thanks to this action, Quintana Roo now has territorial regulation equivalent to 36.63% of the state, consolidating the institutional commitment to guarantee orderly, sustainable urban development with a long-term vision.
