Police Arrest ‘El Aban’ With 101 Drug Doses in Tulum

Jorge Luis 'N,' alias 'El Aban,' in police custody after drug arrest in Tulum

Tulum, Quintana Roo — Police arrested a suspected drug dealer identified as Jorge Luis “N,” alias “El Aban,” in the Guerra de Castas neighborhood of Tulum, seizing 101 doses of various illicit substances during a security operation.

Officers confiscated 34 bags of suspected marijuana, 19 of crystal meth, 20 of cocaine, 12 of tusi (pink cocaine), and 16 of crack cocaine, all packaged in clear ziplock bags ready for distribution.

Authorities said the arrest occurred after they intercepted the suspect and conducted a search that led to the discovery of the drugs. Jorge Luis “N” was handed over to the competent authorities, who will determine his legal status as investigations continue.

Investigators identified the detainee as an independent drug seller who used social media to contact clients. He allegedly sold narcotics to local residents, tourists, and foreign visitors, primarily in high-traffic areas such as Aldea Zamá and downtown Tulum.

The seizure represents another blow against drug dealing in this tourist destination, where security forces maintain operations to curb drug distribution in neighborhoods and areas frequented by national and international visitors. The evidence has been added to the corresponding investigation file to strengthen the legal process.

Jorge Luis “N” remains in custody of ministerial authorities while officials work to determine the full scope of his alleged distribution activities and identify any other individuals linked to the operation.
