Quintana Roo, Mexico — Three people were arrested and drugs, surveillance cameras, and payment terminals were seized in simultaneous raids across three municipalities in Quintana Roo, the state prosecutor’s office said.
The coordinated operation took place in Cozumel, Bacalar, and Benito Juárez, the municipality that includes Cancún. Officers from the Mexican Army, the Navy, the National Guard, and the state Public Security Department took part in the raids, the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) reported.
Cozumel
The first search warrant was executed at a property on Calle 14 Sur, between 7 Sur and 5 Sur, in the San Miguel I neighborhood of Cozumel. There, agents seized several doses of dried green vegetation believed to be marijuana, as well as a yellowish solid substance similar to crack cocaine and white powder consistent with cocaine.
Outside the property, investigators arrested Argelia N., Moisés N., and Carlos Damián N. They were reportedly found with wrappers containing dried green vegetation.
Bacalar
The second raid took place at a property on Avenida 19-C, in the Diego Rojas Zapata neighborhood of Bacalar. Authorities seized the following items:
- A router and security cameras
- A pink solid substance and dried green vegetation
- Electronic payment terminals
Benito Juárez (Cancún)
The third search warrant was carried out at a home on Calle 115, in Supermanzana 94, in Cancún. Officers seized a black synthetic material and dried green vegetation.
After the searches, the FGE placed seizure seals on the properties, which remain under institutional custody. The three detainees and the seized evidence were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine their legal status within the constitutionally required timeframe.
