Miss Universe Mexico 2026 Final Set for August 22 in Mexico City

Contestants in black evening gowns at the Miss Universe Mexico 2026 presentation gala

Mexico City — The Miss Universe Mexico 2026 pageant has officially set its grand final for Saturday, August 22, in Mexico City, organizers announced during the candidates’ presentation gala.

The event will crown the successor to Fátima Bosch, who represented Mexico at the international Miss Universe competition in 2025. The venue for the final has not yet been disclosed.

The presentation gala offered the first public glimpse of the state representatives, who walked the stage in matching black evening gowns. The event focused on introducing the contestants rather than selecting a winner.

Among the early frontrunners generating buzz are Arisbe Cueto (Nuevo León), Glenda Makhlouf (Coahuila), Ximena Aranda (Tabasco), Génesis Vera (Veracruz), María Vargas (Jalisco), Mariana Macías (Michoacán), Ximena Ochoa (Mexico City), and Diana Castillo (Tlaxcala).

Organizers emphasized that the pageant aims to serve as a platform for women’s empowerment, highlighting social, academic, and community projects alongside beauty.

The buildup to the final comes amid heightened media attention, fueled by controversies during Bosch’s reign, including disputes with pageant officials, jury resignations, and questions about voting processes. Bosch herself sparked debate after claiming some contestants did not congratulate her upon winning the national crown in 2025.
