Desayuno del Sombrero Unites Solidarity and Social Commitment for Isla Mujeres Families
Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — The municipal DIF (Integral Family Development) system hosted the traditional Desayuno del Sombrero, a charity breakfast that drew dozens of women committed to supporting the island’s families.
Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde and DIF Honorary President Alicia Ricalde Magaña led the event, thanking attendees for their solidarity and noting that every contribution will help strengthen social programs for the most vulnerable residents.
Participants wore creative, colorful hats inspired by the Caribbean Sea and the essence of Isla Mujeres, turning the morning into a celebration of community identity and social commitment.
Officials said such activities not only raise funds for social causes but also strengthen community ties and encourage citizen participation in efforts that generate collective well-being.
