Mexican Navy Helps Capture Two Suspects in Holbox Shooting

Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Mexican Navy personnel, in coordination with the Quintana Roo Public Security Department, arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in a violent incident on Isla Holbox.

The operation began after authorities received a report of a man injured by gunfire following a fight near a hotel on the island.

Naval personnel from the Fifth Naval Region established a security perimeter to support state police, ensuring control of the area and allowing the operation to proceed safely.

The two suspects were informed of their rights and handed over to the competent authorities, who opened an investigation. The Navy reported no attacks against its personnel or damage to its facilities during the intervention.
