Mexican Navy Seizes More than 407 Kilograms of Marijuana in Yucatan Raids

Mérida, Yucatán — Authorities seized more than 407 kilograms of what appeared to be marijuana during two court-ordered searches in Mérida and Conkal, the Mexican Navy announced.

The searches were carried out by the Yucatán State Prosecutor’s Office with perimeter security provided by Navy personnel from the Ninth Naval Zone. In Mérida, officers found approximately 2.152 kilograms of the substance alongside a scale.

In Conkal, a property search uncovered approximately 405.780 kilograms of the substance, along with electronic cigarettes, pipes, a sealing machine, and a bill counter.

The combined haul totaled 407.932 kilograms. All seized items were turned over to authorities to determine their legal status and continue the investigation.

The Navy said the operation was carried out in coordination with the state prosecutor’s office and other agencies across all three levels of government.
