CANCÚN, Q. ROO — The second stage of the State Windsurfing Circuit concluded this past weekend at Marina Puerto Cancún, setting a new record for competitor turnout. A total of 87 windsurfers, comprising 55 men and 27 women, participated in the event, which aims to select the team that will represent the state at the CONADE 2026 National Olympics. Quintana Roo is considered the national powerhouse in this discipline.
The growing popularity of windsurfing in Quintana Roo was evident in the increased number of competitors at this regatta. Participants hailed from Marina Puerto Cancún, Marina Puerto Aventuras, and the Club Náutico Bacalar.
Adriana Quiterio, President of the Quintana Roo Sailing Association, and Pedro Espín, of the Puerto Cancún Sailing School, confirmed the participant figures.
