Cancún, Quintana Roo — Two minors and two adults were rescued by lifeguards on different beaches in the hotel zone last Friday afternoon.
The minors were playing on the shore of Gaviotas Beach when they decided to enter the water. However, a wave began to pull them further out. Despite being near an adult, lifeguard assistance was necessary to bring them back to a safe area.
The second rescue occurred at Delfines Beach when bathers alerted lifeguards that a fellow countryman was struggling to get out of the water. The lifeguards left their tower to enter the water and provide assistance until they brought him to shore.
The two adults and two minors were evaluated by paramedics from a private service, and after all the commotion, they said it did not warrant transportation, so they were only given a roll to calm their nerves.
