Chetumal Pride March 2026 Set for July 4 With Theme of Unity

Activists announce the 17th Chetumal Pride March scheduled for July 4, 2026

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Organizers have announced that the 17th Chetumal Pride March will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, starting at 6 p.m. at the city’s Obelisk and ending at the Explanada de la Bandera.

Under the theme “You Are the Most Important Piece,” this year’s march uses a puzzle motif to symbolize the diversity of society and promote unity among collectives, families, friends, and allies.

Activist Anaiz Betancourt called on the public to join the peaceful mobilization to demand respect, equality, and full recognition of human rights. She noted that hate speech persists on social media and digital platforms, underscoring the need for continued institutional awareness.

“We have been fighting and resisting for 17 years. This march is for those who are no longer with us and for those who still face discrimination every day,” Betancourt said.

Event logistics are designed to ensure a safe, violence-free space, as organizers receive reports each year of people fearing to attend alone or facing reprisals due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.
