Chetumal Back-to-School Expo to Offer Discounts on Supplies

Stationery stores in Chetumal offer discounts at the Back-to-School Expo.

Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Stationery stores in Chetumal are preparing to offer discounts and promotions during the Back-to-School Expo, an event organized by the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco-Servytur) Chetumal-Cancún to support family budgets and boost local commerce.

According to local merchants, filling an elementary school supply list costs approximately 1,000 pesos at public schools and up to 1,500 pesos at private institutions, depending on requested brands and additional materials such as support books.

The expo will take place on Aug. 15 at Bellavista Hall in Chetumal, with around 60 exhibitors offering school supplies, backpacks, uniforms, equipment and food.

The event will also allow workers who receive school supply vouchers to redeem them with various vendors in a single location and to access special promotions offered by participating businesses.

The president of Canaco-Servytur said that based on experience from previous years, some participating businesses recorded sales of between 50,000 and 70,000 pesos during the fair, and organizers expect a significant economic impact for local merchants.

With the school year scheduled to begin Aug. 31, organizers are inviting families to compare prices and take advantage of the offers available during the expo.
