TULUM — A shooting attack was registered at a residence in the Centro neighborhood of Tulum, an event that prompted the immediate mobilization of police corporations.
According to preliminary reports, at least four detonations from a firearm were heard, which impacted directly on the facade of the property. The aggression occurred at a house located on Calle 2 Oriente, between Avenidas Orión and Centauro.
Neighbors alerted the emergency number after hearing the detonations, which allowed for the rapid arrival of Municipal Police and elements of the National Guard.
The area was cordoned off to preserve the scene while forensics experts from the State Attorney General's Office collected shell casings and other ballistic evidence. Although the facade was damaged, authorities confirmed that there were no persons injured during the attack.
The identity of those responsible and the motive for the aggression are currently unknown. As part of the investigative procedures, nearby security cameras that could provide relevant information to the investigation will be reviewed.
The incident generated concern among the inhabitants of the Centro neighborhood, who indicated that this type of event increases the climate of insecurity in the area. In response, local authorities informed that preventive patrols will be reinforced to guarantee the tranquility of residents.
