10 People Charged With Domestic Violence in Four Quintana Roo Municipalities

Cancun, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office announced it obtained formal charges against 10 individuals in separate hearings for domestic violence-related offenses, and also executed an arrest warrant against a man in the municipalities of Benito Juarez, Playa del Carmen, Othon P. Blanco and Cozumel.

In Benito Juarez, Marco Antonio “N,” Fernando Rafael “N” and Ernesto “N” were charged with physically assaulting their partners. In the latter case, the judge ordered pretrial detention.

Also in Benito Juarez, Fernando “N” was charged with domestic violence against his ex-partner and his 19-year-old son after going to the victim’s workplace, where he committed inappropriate touching and physically attacked the young man. In a separate incident, Francisco “N” was charged with verbal abuse against his ex-partner and for taking a vehicle without authorization.

In Playa del Carmen, Gustavo Adolfo “N” was charged with physically assaulting his partner; the judge imposed pretrial detention. In the same city, Samuel David “N” was charged with physical and verbal aggression toward his ex-partner and minor stepson. Abraham Isai “N” was charged with physical, moral and psychological violence against a victim, as well as manipulating his three minor children.

In Othon P. Blanco, Leon Magno “N” was charged after threatening his partner to force her to hand over income from her business. In Cozumel, Juan “N” was charged with domestic violence against his partner, whom he verbally abused, and changed the locks on their home to prevent her from entering.

Finally, in Benito Juarez, a judge revoked previously imposed alternative measures against Marco Antonio “N” and ordered pretrial detention for incidents in the Supermanzana 19 neighborhood. Investigative police officers executed the arrest warrant and transferred him to the state prison.
