Cancún, Quintana Roo — Infonavit has opened a new service center at Multiplaza Cancún on Avenida Kabah, a facility the institute says can assist about 15,000 housing fund beneficiaries a year.

The Centro de Servicio Infonavit (CESI) Cancún II offers walk-in attention to workers and is intended to simplify paperwork and widen access to the institute’s programs.

Speaking at the inauguration, Javier Núñez López, Infonavit’s director of operations, said the center occupies units E33 through E36 on lot 1110-16, manzana 11, Supermanzana 248, in the Villas del Mar subdivision.

Núñez López said the new office will reinforce service in Benito Juárez, the municipality that is home to Cancún and currently accounts for 58 percent of the services Infonavit provides across Quintana Roo.

By 2030, he said, the center will be able to serve roughly 95,000 local residents each year, including beneficiaries of the federal Vivienda para el Bienestar housing program. He spoke on behalf of Infonavit director general Octavio Romero Oropeza.

What the center offers

  • Information on credit for buying a home or a plot of land
  • Financing options for paying off a bank mortgage
  • Requests for extensions or restructuring to bring a loan back into good standing
  • Free support to cancel a mortgage
  • Guidance on applying for a Vivienda para el Bienestar home
  • Information on where the program’s housing developments are located in Quintana Roo

“We want every person who walks through these doors to find clear guidance, respectful treatment and answers that allow them to make informed and timely decisions,” Núñez López said. “This commitment is part of a vision in which housing is recognized as a social right and not a privilege.”

Infonavit also said it will open two more service points in the coming weeks: CESI Ciudad Juárez II and an attention module in Cabo San Lucas. The institute said the additions are part of an effort to expand its presence in more cities and bring its services closer to workers seeking guidance and access to housing programs.
