Tulum, Quintana Roo — More than 700 workers and union members took part in a parade commemorating the 137th anniversary of International Workers’ Day, led by Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo.

The event brought together contingents from various unions and municipal employees, who marched through the city’s main streets in a show of unity and a call for better working conditions.

Participating organizations included the SNTE (National Union of Education Workers), the Tulum City Workers’ Union, CAPA Tulum, CATEM, UNTRAC, the Taxi Drivers’ Union, and FESOC.

During the ceremony, the mayor emphasized the need to strengthen labor justice, promote dialogue between sectors, and move toward more equitable conditions for the working class.

From early morning, groups carried banners and chanted slogans reflecting their identities and labor demands.
