Taxi and Pickup Truck Collision in Chetumal Leaves 2 Injured, Major Damage
Chetumal, Quintana Roo — Two people were injured and vehicles sustained extensive damage in a collision between a taxi and a pickup truck Saturday night in the Solidaridad neighborhood.
The crash occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Avenidas Maxuxac and Nicolás Bravo.
According to witnesses, the driver of a Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling at excessive speed and ran a red light, striking taxi number 1239.
Paramedics and traffic officers responded to the scene, with support from the National Guard. The injured, all passengers in the taxi, were taken to the General Hospital.
The pickup truck driver was taken into custody and will be held responsible for the damages.
