Six suspects charged with drug offenses in Quintana Roo

Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office has obtained formal charges against six individuals for alleged drug-related crimes in the municipalities of Othón P. Blanco and Tulum.

In a first hearing, Yahir “N” and Luis Antonio “N” were charged with drug dealing involving marijuana and methamphetamine. They were arrested by officers of the Public Security Department. A judge ordered them held in pretrial detention.

In separate proceedings, Cristina “N” was charged with possession of cocaine for distribution; Jorge Eduardo “N” with supplying marijuana; and José Eduardo “N” with simple drug possession. The court ordered pretrial detention for Cristina “N” and Jorge Eduardo “N” while their cases proceed.

In Tulum, Óscar “N” was charged with simple possession of marijuana and cocaine. The judge also ordered pretrial detention for the duration of the criminal proceedings.

The Prosecutor’s Office said investigations continue in accordance with the law, and the courts will determine the defendants’ responsibility.
