The security situation in Felipe Carrillo Puerto is showing accelerated deterioration, with no emergency strategy implementation known from authorities so far, despite the gravity of recent events that have placed the municipality under a constant climate of tension and uncertainty.
Following the death of an alleged plaza leader, versions have begun circulating about possible reprisals from criminal groups, a scenario that has raised alarms among the population amid institutional silence and the marked official secrecy that prevails, generating more questions than answers.
This Friday brought news of the alleged disappearance of a citizen identified as Jorge García Villa, who, according to preliminary information, was reportedly taken from his home by unknown individuals. There is no official confirmation about his whereabouts or the circumstances of the event at this time.
Unofficially, it is not ruled out that this case could be related to the violent events recorded on December 17, where the neutralization of an alleged suspect and the escape of another were reported, without authorities having issued a clear position or detailed report.
Felipe Carrillo Puerto currently stands out as one of the municipalities with the highest number of disappearances by private individuals in the region. Just this week, cases were reported in the communities of Tuzik and Chunhuhub, in addition to the most recent one in the municipal seat, highlighting a concerning scenario.
The municipality not only faces a year marked by high-impact events but also by an increase in disappearances, a problem that exceeds the local scope and urgently demands coordinated and visible intervention from state and federal governments, before the crisis becomes normalized and institutional silence ends up deepening citizen distrust.
