Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the death of Jonathan Succar Pita, son of businessman Jean Succar Kuri, in a traffic accident late Friday night.
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Boulevard Kukulcán at kilometer 18.5, in Cancún’s hotel zone, according to initial reports. The two victims were traveling in a black SUV with Quintana Roo license plates. Succar Pita was the front-seat passenger, while the other victim, identified only as “J.D.R.R.,” has not been publicly identified.
Preliminary reports suggest excessive speed caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Both occupants were trapped in the wreckage and died at the scene.
Jerry Succar, the victim’s brother, confirmed his identity in an Instagram post, where he said goodbye to his sibling. The prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation file and the vehicle was handed over to investigators for further examination.
