Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Tax Administration (SATQ) has extended until December 31, 2026, the deadline for taxpayers registered in the State Taxpayer Registry (REC) to electronically upload their Federal Tax Status Certificate and finalize their enrollment.

Originally, taxpayers who registered in the REC using only their CURP (population registration code) to pay for their vehicle license plate exchange had until July 1 to add the certificate, which is obtained from the federal Tax Administration Service (SAT).

The extension took effect on July 1, 2026, the date the SATQ agreement was published in the state’s official gazette, signed by acting director Marcela Ramos Islas.

The agreement states it was issued to continue giving taxpayers the opportunity to register on time.

Article One reads: “Individuals who are required to register in the State Taxpayer Registry and do not have their Federal Tax Status Certificate may register in the REC using their CURP issued by the National Population Registry, and will have until December 31, 2026 to electronically upload their Federal Tax Status Certificate on the REC Portal.”

Article Two instructs that the effects of tax authority audits and corresponding sanctions related to the obligation to present the certificate for REC registration are suspended.
