Puerto Morelos to Host First NABBA Bodybuilding and Fitness Competition

Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — Officials announced the first edition of “Mr. and Miss NABBA Puerto Morelos,” a bodybuilding and fitness competition set for Saturday, April 18, during a press conference at the Pelícanos restaurant.

The event, organized by Profidemex A.C. and “El Gym del Puerto,” aims to promote sports and community participation through tournaments, exhibitions, and activities. Organizers described it as a unique gathering for the southeastern region of Mexico.

Renán Cruz Ramírez, director of the Municipal Sports Institute, represented Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz and reiterated the municipal government’s support for initiatives that foster healthy lifestyles and family-friendly activities. He invited residents to attend the event, which will feature various activities.

Roger Ramírez Cervantes, in charge of NABBA Puerto Morelos, thanked organizers for bringing the event to Puerto Morelos for the first time. He detailed that the competition will include men’s and women’s bodybuilding categories, as well as a “Strongest Man and Woman” test, with participation expected from local and regional athletes.

Luis Tamay, president of NABBA Quintana Roo, emphasized the importance of creating spaces for sports talent development. Athlete Eduardo Sirvan expressed enthusiasm for the platform, noting events like free squats, tire flips, deadlifts, and surprise tests. He highlighted that this is the first time such an event is being held in the area.

Laura Ruíz, representing “El Gym del Puerto,” welcomed the partnership with NABBA Quintana Roo and expressed hope that the event becomes a tradition. She added that the family-friendly event will include various disciplines and is free to the public, inviting both residents and visitors to join the celebration of sports.

The competition will take place at the “César Martín Rosado” Taxi Union hall, where organizers anticipate a large turnout for a day filled with energy, discipline, and sports talent.
