Playa del Carmen — Vendors at the Villas del Sol plaza detained a thief who had been committing robberies inside various businesses for several days. After detaining him, they notified authorities so he could be brought to justice.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the commercial plaza located on CTM Avenue in the aforementioned neighborhood, where vendors, tired of the robberies, decided to take action to stop this man.
The suspect, who had previously been identified and named as the primary suspect in several commercial store robberies, on this occasion stole a speaker that the vendors themselves left within his reach, unaware that it was a trap.
Upon leaving the commercial plaza, he was secured and held by security guards, who turned him over to the Municipal Police.
The victims told the Police they will file a complaint with the State Attorney General's Office, as they have evidence of several robberies committed by the same individual.
