Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Mayor Estefanía Mercado has announced that the Virgen del Carmen Fair 2026 will offer free mechanical rides for all seven days, along with concerts and traditional food, as part of efforts to strengthen family ties and preserve local traditions.

The fair runs from July 10 to 16 at the fairgrounds on Avenida CTM. Mercado inspected final preparations Thursday and invited residents and visitors to attend.

“We want all Playa del Carmen families to fully enjoy this great celebration, to make the fair their own and share unforgettable moments with their loved ones,” Mercado said.

This year’s edition features free access to all carnival rides, a move aimed at ensuring children, youth and adults can enjoy the attractions without straining household budgets.

The fair will also include a gastronomic zone offering traditional antojitos and regional dishes. The artistic lineup includes a free concert by Mexican singer Aleks Syntek on July 15, along with performances by local artists.

The Virgen del Carmen festivities combine religious, cultural, artistic, recreational and commercial activities, drawing thousands of locals and tourists each year. The event is one of the municipality’s most iconic celebrations.
