Cancún, Quintana Roo — A viral security camera video appears to show a taxi driver in Cancún stopping to pick up a hydraulic jack that did not belong to him and driving away with the tool, drawing sharp criticism on social media.
The footage, widely shared on digital platforms, shows the driver stopping his vehicle near the spot where the jack was left, picking it up, and placing it inside the car before leaving the area.
Social media users condemned the driver’s actions and called for the owner to get the tool back. The video also made it possible to identify the vehicle involved, though the driver’s name has not been released publicly and there is no information about any arrest related to the incident.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the owner filed a formal complaint over the alleged theft. For now, the claim remains an accusation circulated online and has yet to be clarified by the appropriate agencies.
