Cancun, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office has formally charged nine people in connection with drug dealing offenses in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, the latest move in the state’s ongoing crackdown on street-level narcotics sales.
Benito Juárez cases
In Benito Juárez, Jorge Manuel “N” and Ulises “N” were formally charged with supplying marijuana and methamphetamine. Municipal police arrested them in Supermanzana 62, and a judge ordered pretrial detention while the case proceeds.
José Guadalupe “N” was caught in the act in the El Milagro neighborhood and formally charged with possession of marijuana with intent to supply. Yair “N” faces the same charge, while Carlos Alejandro “N” was charged with simple possession of marijuana and also ordered held in pretrial detention.
Playa del Carmen cases
In Playa del Carmen, Gregorio Fabián “N”, Daniel Rolando “N”, José Gabriel “N” and Lorenzo Eugenio “N” were formally charged with possession of marijuana with intent to supply. Investigators with the prosecutor’s office arrested them, and a judge ordered pretrial detention for the duration of the proceedings.
