Playa del Carmen Business Leaders Push for Consolidated Events Calendar

Business leaders discuss events calendar in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Business leaders are working to create a permanent events calendar to boost tourism and economic activity in Playa del Carmen during the second half of the year, featuring gastronomic, cultural, and entertainment offerings.

Victor Lozano, a local businessman and event organizer, said the goal is to form a working group that will promote a year-round agenda, with projects already planned for October, November, and December.

“The trust, affection, respect for the city, and the intention to put together an important group and team for events,” Lozano said, adding that the aim is to offer a varied program for both residents and visitors.

The strategy will kick off with the Sabor a Playa 2026 festival and conclude with year-end celebrations, he said.

Lozano stressed that promotion will be key to the success of these activities and called for support from authorities, media, and digital platforms.

“An event without promotion is stillborn; the intention is to have government support and social media diffusion so more people learn about these events,” he said.

The businessman expressed confidence that coordination between the private sector, government, and media will help consolidate an events agenda that maintains Playa del Carmen’s tourism and economic momentum through the end of 2026.
