Pickup Truck Hits Cargo Truck on Gas Auto Road in Cancún

A damaged pickup truck involved in a collision with a cargo truck on the Gas Auto road in Cancún

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A Nissan Frontier pickup crashed into the back of a cargo truck Saturday afternoon on the Gas Auto road, about two kilometers from José López Portillo Avenue.

The collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. near the La Libertad neighborhood. Witnesses said the truck driver slowed down, but the pickup driver failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the heavy vehicle.

Traffic officers, firefighters, and paramedics from public and private agencies responded to the scene and assessed the occupants of both vehicles.

Authorities said the pickup driver sustained only minor injuries and did not need to be taken to a hospital. Both drivers were handed over to the corresponding authorities to determine responsibility.
