Tulum, Mexico — A pair of foreign tourists fell victim to luggage theft during their bus journey from Cancún to Tulum, prompting intervention by the Executive Police to file a report with the State Attorney General’s Office and ensure their safe return to their hotel.
Theft Goes Unnoticed Until Arrival
According to the victims, identified via passports as Allison Jene Elizabeth and Allison Martin Joseph, both approximately 65 years old, the theft occurred unnoticed during their trip aboard an ADO bus line. It was only upon arrival in Tulum that they realized their luggage—containing bank cards, identification, and personal documents—had been stolen.
Police Escort to Authorities and Bank
After reporting the incident to local authorities, police officers escorted the tourists to the State Attorney General’s Office in Tulum, where an official complaint was filed. The couple then requested assistance to visit a bank branch, hoping to access a digital card available through their mobile app. However, they were unable to resolve the issue at the branch located near the Aki supermarket.
Hotel Provides Temporary Shelter
With no immediate financial resources due to the theft, the tourists requested further assistance to return to their coastal hotel. Officers accompanied them to the establishment, where the manager was informed of the situation. The hotel agreed to provide temporary lodging while the couple arranged necessary procedures the following day.
The operation concluded without further incident. The swift response by the Executive Police ensured the safety and support of the foreign visitors, preventing a potentially escalating situation.
