Motorcycle Gunmen Kill Teenager in Cancun Neighborhood
Cancun, Quintana Roo — Two gunmen on a motorcycle shot and killed a 17-year-old boy in the Villas Otoch Paraíso neighborhood Sunday morning, authorities said.
The attack occurred around 11 a.m. in a walkway of block 107 in the supermanzana 259 housing complex. Witnesses reported hearing at least four gunshots and saw the victim collapse outside a building.
Municipal police arrived to find the teenager lying in a pool of blood. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Neighbors told investigators the two suspects fled on a motorcycle in an unknown direction after the shooting. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head, according to initial reports.
The State Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the homicide.
