Mexico City — Days before the 2026 World Cup kicks off, Mexico’s Tourism Secretariat (Sectur) has launched the “Mexico Invita” app, featuring 290 fan routes to help visitors explore the country and plan their World Cup experience.

The app includes detailed information on all 32 states and the three host cities: Mexico City, Jalisco, and Nuevo León. It also features a “Tourist Atlas” that lets users choose their favorite destinations and find routes on the Tren Maya to travel and discover the wonders of southeastern Mexico.

Sectur has also set up “Mexico Contigo” kiosks — service points designed to assist international tourists with lost documents, immigration issues, and other needs.

How to Use ‘Mexico Invita’

The app covers more than 150 destinations across Mexico. To use it:

  • Download it for free on Android or iOS.
  • Select your language (Spanish or English).
  • Access the main menu.
  • Browse all 32 states.
  • Choose your destination.

The app also includes a special 2026 World Cup guide that allows users to:

  • Check the full match schedule.
  • View real-time match results.
  • Find routes to stadiums in host cities.

Culinary Events and Guinness Records

Sectur is organizing several events to showcase Mexico’s culinary heritage. “Mexico de mis sabores” will take place June 11–17 at Campo Marte, offering a gastronomic tour of the country. “Descubre el Itacate,” featuring corn-based recipes, runs from June 11 to July 11 at the same venue. At the Los Pinos Cultural Center, “Cocina de Humo” will celebrate traditional cooking methods.

Sectur also announced three Guinness World Records highlighting Mexico’s grandeur: the largest human image of a soccer jersey in Chiapas, the largest soccer class in Mexico City’s Zocalo, and the world’s largest interactive soccer mural in Baja California Sur.
