Mexican Forces Raid Two Ranches on Tizimín-Calotmul Highway, Seize Multiple Vehicles

Tizimín, Yucatán — A joint operation by state police, the National Guard, and investigative units raided two ranches along the Tizimín-Calotmul highway on Thursday, seizing several vehicles in what officials described as a targeted action against suspected drug-related properties.

The operation began shortly after noon, though police checkpoints had been set up earlier in the day by the elite Dorados group, signaling a larger deployment. Officers from the State Police, National Guard, and the State Investigative Police (PEI) participated, using drones to surveil the area around the ranches near the eastern crematorium.

By around 5 p.m., authorities had secured four to five private vehicles inside the properties. The vehicles were later removed by tow trucks under heavy security, with civilian access restricted throughout the operation.

Checkpoints began to be dismantled after 5:30 p.m., though official patrols remained in the area intermittently. As of Thursday evening, authorities had not confirmed any arrests or seizures of illicit substances.

The raids are part of a broader security push in Yucatán’s eastern region, particularly in municipalities such as Buctzots, Sucilá, Tizimín, and Panabá, where authorities have intensified surveillance and property inspections. Recent reports have pointed to the possible existence of so-called “narcoranches” and the presence of criminal groups, including organizations from Michoacán and cells linked to the Sinaloa Cartel.

Officials have not released a detailed statement on the results of the operation. Further information is expected in the coming hours.
