Mexican Authorities Seize Drugs and Surveillance Gear in Four Raids Across Quintana Roo

Evidence including drugs and surveillance equipment displayed after raids in Quintana Roo

Cancún, Quintana Roo — The State Prosecutor’s Office carried out four search warrants in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Isla Mujeres and Bacalar, seizing drugs, surveillance cameras and other items, officials announced.

The operations were conducted in coordination with federal forces and municipal police, including the Mexican Army, National Guard, Mexican Navy and Benito Juárez Municipal Police.

During the raids, authorities secured five properties linked to possible illicit activities. The seized evidence was handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to integrate into the corresponding investigation files.

Raids in Benito Juárez

  • Residencial Villa Marino, Cerrada Porto Venere street
  • Supermanzana 230, Calle 61 between Leona Vicario and Calle 64
  • Presumed marijuana
  • Refrigerators, televisions, washing machines, microwave oven and air conditioner

Raids in Isla Mujeres

  • Colonia Jerusalén, Ejido Rancho Viejo
  • Green and dry plant material with characteristics similar to marijuana

Raids in Bacalar

  • Avenida 7, between Calles 28 and 30, Colonia Mario Villanueva Madrid
  • Surveillance cameras and DVR
  • Presumed marijuana, crystal meth and cocaine

After the searches, the properties remained under the custody of the State Prosecutor’s Office as investigations continue.
