Cancun, Quintana Roo — Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa has launched a Mobile Unit for Women, a program designed to bring comprehensive services to remote communities across Quintana Roo and reduce inequality gaps.
The unit, operated through the state’s Women’s Secretariat (Semujeres), will travel throughout the state offering psychological counseling, legal advice, and social work support for women who face difficulties reaching government offices.
“The goal is to move to different places and communities for service days for women, and also for families,” Lezama said. “That’s why this mobile unit was created.”
The governor emphasized that the program reflects a government focused on the ground, aiming to bring public services closer to the population and strengthen access to social justice.
Women’s Secretary Esther Burgos Jiménez said the unit will feature three specialized modules to provide professional and confidential support.
The Mobile Unit aims to offer a safe space where women can receive guidance from psychologists, lawyers, and social workers, particularly in areas with limited access to services.
