Cozumel, Quintana Roo — Kuzá Beach & Adventure Park, a sustainable tourism project developed by Global Cruises Worldwide, is consolidating its role as a major source of employment and a strategic partner for regional suppliers in the Mexican Caribbean.

The park currently generates around 300 direct and indirect jobs — 271 direct positions and about 30 indirect jobs through concessions operating inside its facilities — mainly benefiting families in Cozumel. With the opening of the second phase, corresponding to the water park, 25 new jobs were created starting earlier this year.

Hiring prioritizes local talent. Of the total staff, 99.6% are Mexican and 83% are originally from Cozumel, reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing opportunities to island residents. The workforce is made up of 26% women and 74% men.

Beyond offering formal employment, Kuzá promotes a work environment that supports the personal and professional development of its employees. Among the most valued benefits are complimentary passes for workers and their families to enjoy the park, as well as grocery vouchers — perks that complement a workplace characterized by collaboration, growth, and the chance to be part of an innovative project unique to the region.

Thanks to these conditions, the park maintains a personnel turnover rate of just 8.4%, reflecting the high level of satisfaction and commitment among its team members.

“At Global Cruises we believe that the success of a destination begins with the well-being of its people,” said Leyla Osorio, CEO of Global Cruises Worldwide. “That is why at Kuzá we have focused on creating quality jobs, prioritizing local hiring, and strengthening regional businesses. Our commitment is to continue building a project that generates shared prosperity, drives sustainable development, and becomes a source of pride for the entire Mexican Caribbean.”

Kuzá’s commitment to regional development also extends to its supply chain. Currently, 20% of supplier companies are from Cozumel, while 75% come from Cancún and other municipalities in the state, strengthening the local economy through the contracting of local goods and services.
