Cancún, Quintana Roo — A man preliminarily identified as a dentist was shot dead Saturday on a street near Plaza Galerías in Cancún, authorities said.
Witnesses said the victim was unloading items from the trunk of his white Seat when armed men on a motorcycle pulled up, opened fire and fled. The attack took place on an interior street between Tulum and Náder avenues in Supermanzana 2.
Municipal police officers arrived and searched the surrounding area for the gunmen but did not find them. Paramedics confirmed the man had already died at the scene.
Agents from the State Prosecutor’s Office later arrived and interviewed employees of Dental Med, the clinic where the victim worked, along with relatives who came to the location. Forensic personnel processed the scene and collected evidence as part of the initial investigation.
No arrests have been made. Officials have not publicly released the victim’s identity or details about the possible motive for the attack. Investigators kept the area cordoned off while they continued their inquiries.
