The Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation (FPMC) recently unveiled the new Punta Sur ecotourism park. The park's primary aim is to provide the local community with a direct connection to the aquatic ecosystem of the Colombian lagoon.
During the opening day, attendees had the chance to embark on a boat ride where they observed crocodiles and various bird species in their natural environment. The event also offered an educational opportunity for visitors to learn more about the ongoing restoration program for the mangrove ecosystem.
Furthermore, the significance of the El Caracol Mayan archaeological site was highlighted during the event. This site is of considerable historical and cultural importance to the region.
The Punta Sur ecotourism park is a significant addition to Cozumel's offerings, providing both a recreational and educational space for locals and tourists alike.
